fUN wITH cARTOONING

Journalism class may not always be fun especially when it is offered in high school where in students have no choice but to take the subject. Well, high school is a preparation for higher education and it is but fair to make the students experience different flavors and compositions of what their life could be.  I wouldn't say journalism is easy nor difficult. I'd say, it's challenging (though at first I really thought it's difficult).
Since most of the students are spatial in nature and they enjoy graphics more than anything, so here goes my class activity:
    1. Students are paired.
    2. They examine and observe the facial features of their partner.
    3. Let them identify the features that make their partners distinctive.
    4. Exaggerate the feature.
This activity does not intend to make fun of their classmates rather to illustrate them in a funny way as what a caricature is. Imagine the squeals of laughter in my class especially when the caricatures are shown to the class. They raise a thumbs up if the caricature shows a resemblance of the one being sketched.
