HOW TO DRAFT A MINI-BACK BODICE PATTERN


MINI-BACK BODICE PATTERN

1. Draw construction line by tracing the outer edge of the 
    L-square and mark the corner A.
2. From A, measure 1/4  inch downward. Label it B.
3. From A, measure 5 inches downward on the construction 
    line. Label it C.
4. From A, measure ½ of the armhole circumference
    Label it D.
5. From A, measure the back bodice length. Label it E.
6. Square out points B, C, D and E.
7. From A, measure 1 inch to the right. Label it F.
8. Shape back neckline from point F to B with a French 
    curve.
9. From A, measure ½ of the shoulder width. Label it G.
10. Connect G to E with a straight line to form the swayed 
      line.
11. From G, measure 1/4 inch down the swayed line. 
     Label it H.
12. Connect points F and H with a straight line.
13. From C, measure ½ of the back across width to the 
      right. Label it I.
14. From D, measure ¼ of the bust circumference
      Label it J.
15. Shape back armhole by connecting points H, I and J 
     with a French curve.
16. From E, measure ¼ of the waist circumference plus 
     1/2 inch for the back dart.
17. Connect points J and K with a straight line.
18. From E, measure 17/8  inches upward. Label it L.
19. Square out point L.
20. From E, measure 1¾ inches to the right. Label it M.
21. Square up point M.
22. Mark the intersection of line LM as point N.
23. From M, measure ½ inch towards point E. Label it O.
24. From M, measure ½ inch towards point K. Label it P.
25. Connect points N and P with a straight line.
26. Connect points N and O with a straight line.
27. From K, measure ½ inch upward. Label it Q.
28. Connect point Q to M with a slight curve.
